Membership

2014 Membership renewals have been mailed to all 2013 paid members, except those having only joined in 2013 who have not completed their Work Party requirement for membership renewal in 2014. If you qualify and have not received your membership renewal, contact Membership Chairman Jim Creek at 717-572-8583 or jcreek@me.com.

Membership is open to anyone 18 years of age or older. Prospective members must complete the Application for Membership and agree to abide by the By-Laws and Rules and Regulations of the Club, and that violations of such may be grounds for dismissmal, without remuneration. Currently there are no restrictions on new memberships, however a prospective member may be denied if there exists a known history of dismissal from another sportsman's club for significant conduct or safety concerns.

2014 Annual Dues are $25.00. Current 2013 member renewals for 2014 membership must be received before January 31, 2014. Otherwise you must submit this as a new member application with the $35.00 fee and you will be required to meet the work party requirements outlined below. No exceptions will be made for late renewals.

New member applications must include a non-refundable application fee of $10.00 for a total of $35.00 per applicant. New member applications will be submitted for approval by the membership at the next monthly meeting after receipt, and if membership is denied you will receive a refund of the $25.00 annual dues paid, less the $10.00 application fee.

Membership dues are not prorated, new membership applications received and approved starting at the October 2013 monthly meeting, and anytime up to and including the September 2014 monthly meeting, will be good through December 31, 2014. New membership applications received after the September 2014 monthly meeting and approved at the October, November, or December 2014 monthly meetings will be good through December 31, 2015.

All newly approved members must participate in at least (1) scheduled work party in their first year of membership. Failure to do so will result in denial of renewal of your membership for the following year. You must then wait (1) additional year to re-apply as a new member. Exemptions are available for active duty military service and physical disabilities preventing manual labor.

The 2014 work parties are tentatively scheduled for January 18, March 22, May 10, June 21, July 19, August 16, September 6, October 11 and December 20. Please Check our website at www.cocalicosportsmen. org for final dates. Work parties will run from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm. No reservations are needed; simply show up prepared to work. All members are welcome to participate and all help is appreciated.

In addition to the work parties, all 2014 new members are required to complete the CSA orientation program prior to receiving their membership card. This program is designed to introduce all new members to the club, and will consist of a tour of the grounds along with an explanation of all the activities available. It will also cover all the range rules and regulations, the hours they are open for use and, most importantly, the expectations for using them in a safe and responsible manner. Additionally, upcoming club functions, the membership manual, club committees, the guest pass program and new member responsibilities will be reviewed. Orientations will be offered the first Saturday of every month at 1:00 pm and the second Sunday of every month at 10:00 am. They will also be held May 15, June 19, July 17, August 21, and September 18 at 6:00pm. Orientations will last approximately 40 minutes.

Prospective new members making application may pay a $50.00 Work Party Exemption Fee in addition to the initial $35.00 Membership Fee to waive the above noted work rule requirement. Payment of the Work Party Exemption Fee eliminates the requirement to attend (1) scheduled work party and will insure you are eligible for membership renewal for the 2015 year.

Membership applications and renewals can be downloaded and printed, or picked up at the Clubhouse. Completed applications/renewals should be mailed only to Cocalico Sportsmen’s Association, P.O. Box 275, Bowmansville, PA, 17507-0275, or they can be dropped off at the clubhouse during scheduled events only. Checks returned from the bank for any reason will be returned to the applicant and require the applicant to pay the bank service fee in addition to the annual dues and must be re-submitted by certified check or money order.
